Knaebe’s Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm, Rogers City

With fall temperatures finally expected to return to Michigan this weekend, it’s time to start think about apple orchards, cider, donuts, hayrides, corn mazes and all of the other things that make autumn a special time here in the mitten state. We recently had a chance to visit Knaebe’s Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm in Rogers City and we recommend checking out this awesome family-friendly attraction. Located just a few miles away from downtown Rogers City and some of our favorite attractions (40 Mile Point Lighthouse, World’s Largest Limestone Quarry, Calcite freighter observation area), Knaebe’s has been a local favorite since the 1990s, and in this post we’ll take a look at what they have to offer.

Knaebe’s Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm is well-known for their bakery, which makes fresh donuts daily. We loved the BAM! (Bacon, Apple, Maple); other offerings include buttermilk, cinnamon sugar, apple cider and pumpkin. The bakery also features pies, cookies, apple crisp, muffins and more.

Many different apples are available, and the apple cider is a fall crowd-pleaser. Knaebe’s store also features a wide variety of apple-themed items, Michigan items, home goods, toys and more.

A recent addition to the property is Twisted Roots Cider, which offers several flavors of hard cider for the adults. Hot dogs, brats, and wood-fired pizzas are also on the menu here and there is plenty of comfortable indoor space in which to enjoy a drink, a meal, or both.

The outdoor area offers plenty of fun for kids of all ages. A playground, pony rides, hayrides, train rides, petting zoo area and an apple slingshot are just a few of the ways to keep everyone entertained. We’ve included some of our favorite pictures below:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Knaebe’s Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm is open Thursday – Sunday, 9am-5pm until November 12th. Upcoming special events include the Halloween Egg Hunt and Twisted Roots 5K and Mmmunchy Krunchy Mile, both taking place on October 21st. Turn at the sign and head south on Karsten Rd. for another mile and a half to the parking area. There are several overflow parking areas available.
