Burnt Marshmallow Brewing Petoskey MI Rudbeckia

On our Northern Michigan vacation last August, we spent a few days exploring the breweries in the Traverse City and Petoskey region. In addition to returning to old favorites like Jolly Pumpkin, Petoskey Brewing, and Beard’s Brewery, we also had the chance to visit a few new places. At Burnt Marshmallow Brewing in Petoskey we found wine, cider, beer, and one of the coolest outdoor areas at any brewery we’ve been to.

Burnt Marshmallow Brewing Indoor Taproom Petoskey

Burnt Marshmallow Brewing shares a tasting room with Rudbeckia Winery, located in the rolling hills a few miles from downtown Petoskey near the 45th Parallel. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, perfectly timing our visit between several bus tour groups that were on wine tours.

Burnt Marshmallow Brewing Outdoor Area Petoskey MI

The small indoor tasting area has room for 10-20 people, but the real treat here is the outdoor area. There are tables and chairs, a fire (where you can even roast your own s’mores), lawn game area, a play area for children, and seemingly endless scenic views. There are few better places to enjoy a beer on a warm summer day!

Burnt Marshmallow Brewing Flight Petoskey

We ordered a flight of seven beer and cider offerings, which included Heritage “Many Apples” (cider), Lemon Lavender Shandy, Raspberry Cream Ale, Slagathor (IPA), Oh Cherry Cherry (cider), Saros 145 (Belgian Dubbel), and S’More Porter. We enjoyed both ciders and found the Lemon Lavender Shandy to be a fresh take on a classic summer refresher, but our hands down favorite here was the S’More Porter. This dark porter featured hints of graham, marshmallow, and chocolate, and it drinks much easier than its 8% ABV would imply.

Burnt Marshmallow Brewing Outdoor Game Area Petoskey Brewery

This brewery is a great addition to the Northern Michigan beer scene. With wine, beer and cider available it’s a great place to bring a large group where everyone’s tastes vary. Plan on spending some time here enjoying great tasting drinks and an amazing outdoor area! Check the information below for new beer tappings and seasonal hour changes.
