Photo Gallery Friday: 2015 Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival

Photo Gallery Friday is a regular feature on Travel the Mitten that will help showcase photos from places where one post just isn’t enough to show off everything.

For more than 30 years, summer in Calhoun County has meant the return of family fun to the W.K. Kellogg Airport, as the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show & Balloon Festival provides family-friendly entertainment for several days. This year’s event runs from July 1-5, and features hot-air balloon flights, air shows, Skerbeck Entertainment Group carnival rides, food vendors, live music and more.

Chris and I have many great memories of attending this event annually as kids, and on July 1st we got a chance to return to Cereal City and check out this year’s festivities. It was good to see that some of the balloons we remembered from years past were still part of the show (Post Sugar Bear being one of them) and it was great to introduce a new generation of the family to this event.
