Hideout Brewing Company – Grand Rapids
If you’re looking to try a lot of beers of different varieties, Hideout Brewing Company in northern Grand Rapids is a great place to stop. When we stopped in this month, there were close to 30 different kinds of beer and cider available. We had a Groupon for a flight of 5 beers, two pints and two souvenir pint glasses and we had already stopped at Rockford Brewing Company earlier in the day so we only tried out seven of the Hideout’s offerings.
Our flight included the Polish Potato Ale, Ginger Peach Cider, Bernstein’s Hazel Berry Stout, Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk Stout and the Pumpkin Pie Milk Stout. It quickly became clear that this brewery knows their way around making a good stout. The pumpkin stout was incredibly creamy, and the berry and peanut butter chocolate stouts had great flavor. The cider was good, and the potato ale was definitely interesting to try out.
For our pints I grabbed the Gangster IPA, which was a good choice. Allison got the Gingerbread Milk Brown, which was also very good and at 9.2% ABV was the strongest one we tried out. It wasn’t too busy when we were there, and the service was prompt and attentive. The brewery itself had a very laid back, chill vibe to it which would make this a great place for just about everyone. This is one brewery in the Grand Rapids area we’ll definitely be making a trip back to so we can try out more of their beers!
